Wix noindex keeps a live page out of Google’s index when you turn off indexing in SEO settings. Use it for thank-you pages, internal tools, and duplicates you must keep published. Do not noindex your money pages by accident.

- Tells search engines not to show the page in results
- Keeps the page available to people who have the URL (unless other restrictions apply)
- Is different from deleting the page or passwording it
How to noindex on Wix
- Open the Editor and select the page.
- Open page SEO basics (via Pages & Menu more actions, or the SEO panel).
- Disable “Let search engines index this page.”
- Publish the site.
- For groups of pages, use SEO Settings templates where available.

When to use it
- Order thank-you and confirmation pages
- Internal staging-style pages that must stay live
- Thin utility pages that create duplicate-intent noise
- Some public member surfaces that should stay out of search
Noindex vs robots.txt
Use page noindex for specific URLs. Use robots.txt only when you understand crawl side effects. Blocking crawl can prevent Google from seeing a noindex tag on that URL. Prefer the index toggle for most store cases.
Accidental noindex fixes
- Confirm the page toggle allows indexing.
- Check site-wide or page-type SEO defaults.
- Rule out password or members-only restrictions.
- Inspect the URL in Search Console and request indexing after the fix.
When not to noindex
- Product, collection, and key content pages you want ranked
- As a substitute for fixing thin content
- As a speed tactic. Noindex is not a performance tool.

How do I noindex a page on Wix?+
In the editor, open the page’s SEO basics and turn off “Let search engines index this page.” That applies a noindex directive. You can also manage index settings for page types in SEO Settings.
Is noindex the same as robots.txt disallow?+
No. Noindex targets indexing of a URL. robots.txt controls crawling of paths. Most store owners should leave robots.txt alone and use page index toggles for thank-you or private utility pages.
Why does Search Console say submitted URL marked noindex?+
Google found a noindex signal or a related exclusion. Check the page index toggle, password protection, members-only rules, then use URL Inspection.
Does Speed Booster change noindex?+
